“I love you because you are the first person who taught me about God and the Bible. I will miss you!”

These heartfelt words from a child attending the Good News Club (GNC) at Palmetto Elementary School capture the impact of this ministry. Moments like this remind us why we serve.
I am grateful to God for CEF Ministry and my church, FBC Palmetto, for the opportunity to be part of this outreach during the 2025–2026 school year. As the year ended, many children shared how sad they were to see GNC finish—but also how excited they are to return next year. Every smile, every hug, and every “I will miss you” reminds us that seeds of faith are being planted.
This ministry has also deeply impacted us as volunteers. In serving the children, we have experienced the joy of building relationships and sharing God’s love in meaningful ways.
“For me personally,” Mrs. Becky McMahon expressed, “God answered a special prayer through GNC. With my own grandchildren living far away, I had prayed for ‘surrogate grandchildren’—young lives I could love and encourage. Through these children, God has fulfilled that desire in a beautiful way. It has been a joy to share His love with them, and I feel richly blessed.”

We have seen the truth of Romans 10:15: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.”
Even beyond our community, the impact continues. Through a childhood friend in Bogotá, Colombia, our GNC materials are now being used in Spanish to share God’s love with students in a public school—despite restrictions on Bible teaching.
We ask for your continued prayers for CEF Ministry and our churches, that God will keep opening doors to reach more children with His hope.
The children of Good News Club are not just participants—they are the next generation who will carry God’s blessings forward for years to come. As Scripture reminds us in Deuteronomy 7:9: “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
